The queen’s museum

The Museum of the Regina (Museo della Regina) in Cattolica was founded in 2000 in a building that was once (1584) the old Pilgrim’s Hospital (Ospedale dei Pellegrini). Inside, you will find two Routes, one of an archaeological nature, exhibiting artefacts found during the excavations carried out in the city; and another relating to the Nautical World, dedicated to naval and port traditions as well as the
World of Fishermen. The archaeological section preserves the finds from the excavations, carried out in 1966, which revealed a Small Village dating back to the Roman-Republican era that seems to have been established, around the importance of the via Flaminia. You can
observe ancient tableware and small everyday objects; The naval section conserves the ancient knowledge of naval art, by exhibiting
authentic pieces of Vessels of various sizes and dating back to different historical periods.
