On 19th and 20th September 2026, Cattolica will host a major weekend dedicated to open-water swimming, featuring two major events that will attract athletes and enthusiasts from all over Italy:

The waters of the Adriatic Riviera will provide the backdrop for two top-level competitions, transforming the Cattolica coastline into a hub for sport, wellbeing and active tourism.
Saturday 19th September: Dominate the Water Cattolica 2026
Saturday will be dedicated to the DTW 2026 event, featuring the spectacular 1,852-metre DTW Mile race.

Sunday 20th September: Italian Masters Long-Distance Swimming Championships
Sunday will see the Italian Masters Long-Distance Swimming Championships take place over a distance of 3,000 metres, one of the most eagerly awaited events on the national calendar for masters athletes.
Programme:
09:00 – Start of the men’s race
11:00 – Start of the women’s race
11:10 – Men’s race prize-giving ceremony
13:00 – Women’s race prize-giving ceremony
A weekend of sport by the sea in Cattolica
The competitions offer a special opportunity to experience Cattolica through sport, with the sea taking centre stage in an event that combines competition, passion and spectacle. Athletes, support staff and visitors will be able to make the most of the weekend to explore the beaches, the seafront promenade, the town centre and the food and wine on offer in the ‘Queen of the Adriatic’.
