CATTOLICA MUSICALE   La Canta choir  is in the hearts of all the citizens of Cattolica. Every summer season the choir sings ancient songs perhaps unknown to most, but they are an integral part of our history.

This choir was founded many years ago with a very specific purpose: to preserve, promote, enhance, and disseminate the music and traditions of popular folklore, thus stemming the danger of dissolving a long, very long popular tradition that is little known today. A kind of dive into the past with songs that are part of our collective memory.

The repertoire is very vast, ranging from the songs of rice weeders to those of sailors in the middle of the sea. Listening to the words of these songs is a true historical excursus. Each piece carries with it characteristic elements of a newspaper that has now definitively disappeared.

CATTOLICA MUSICALE has two events scheduled, the first scheduled for Friday 24th July in Piazza del Tramonto at the harbour and the second for Monday 24th August in Piazza Mercato Coperto. Both appointments will start at 9pm and both are free.
