On Friday, 29th August 2025, the Port of Cattolica will host a re-enactment of traditional ‘alla tratta’ fishing.

The “Cooperativa Casa del Pescatore” of Cattolica invites you to discover and relive a centuries-old tradition: the re-enactment of traditional ‘alla tratta’ fishing. A group of elderly fishermen will guide young volunteers, illustrating the operations of this ancient fishing technique and involving the audience in a fascinating journey into the past.

The event will take place along a stretch of coastline west of the fishing dock of the Port of Cattolica, using a small net restored by the older sailors and a traditional ‘moscone a remi’ type boat.

This is a unique opportunity to learn about the fishing community, maritime practices and knowledge, and to rediscover precious iconographic and documentary evidence.
