Christmas in Cattolica: it’s magic with the Ice Queen!
Once again this year, the cold graceful breeze of the Ice Queen descends on Cattolica, covering our town with a scent made of snow and stardust.
Everything becomes icy, fairy-like, unreal.
In the streets and squares, along the docks you begin to breathe a crisp air, made of sea and mulled wine, hot chocolate and Miacetto cattolichino.
It is the crisp, pungent air that tastes of festivity and is filled with anticipation for the Christmas to come.
The city prepares to celebrate the holidays by dressing up: threads of light and canvases of frost and snowflakes light up the center and the streets.
The large historic tree in front of City Hall is decorated and prepared for the traditional “Three Rounds Under the Tree”. In the large fountain in front of Mancini Palace emerges the statue of the Ice Queen.
The frozen forest grows thick in the gardens, a light breeze always blows here with the flavor of cotton candy: the lights of the big Ferris Wheel fill children’s eyes with wonder, and the round, warm voice of a Santa Claus lifeguard draws the curious around his giant, magical, frozen Igloo.
Piazza Roosevelt will welcome all children with a forest of lights and a big Igloo.
The tasty food and wine-themed Christmas market, which from the lighted tree located in Piazza Nettuno, winds its way along Viale Bovio and Via Matteotti, among sweets, piadinas and delicacies from Romagna, is ready to give you the perfect break to spend with your family, with friends or for a romantic evening.
And finally her, in Piazza I Maggio, waiting for you for fun times with friends: the Ice Queen Skating Rink.
But when does the Ice Queen arrive?
On Nov. 25th, the city lights up, and from 2nd Dec. the unique event of the Ice Queen Christmas, full of magic, filled with music and traveling shows around the city, kicks off a month-long event until 7th Jan. 2024.
So many initiatives, not only marching shows, but also a Christmas village, concerts, ice skating, workshops and readings for children inside the Igloo, animation shows, the big Ferris wheel, reckless and super sporty Santa Claus!

If what you love is to lose yourself in the enchantment of Christmas, among the lights, the snow and the red garlands, to be won over by a nutella crepes after a ride on the Ferris wheel, or even better by a tasty piada, while in the background there is the sound of the sea and on your lips a smile, well, Cattolica is perfect and awaits you for an icy but heart-warming Christmas!
